If Microsoft Edge always opens with previous tabs not shown and "Restore Tabs" prompt, do this.

Hello all. I'm not asking for solutions. I'm posting this because I couldn't find a solution to the problem in the title anywhere, and I hope this helps someone. Every single search I've done for this solution came up with answers to how to disable the tab restore setup instead of actually fixing the problem I had.
In many distros I've tried, not just MX, Microsoft Edge consistently glitches in that no matter if I X out of it or simply shut the computer down while it's still running, it always opens with no previous tabs displayed and the "Restore Tabs" prompt. Only a click to fix, but there's always a tiny fear in the back of my mind that the tabs are corrupted and I've lost my configuration (the depth of which is one reason I like Edge's vertical tabs handling). So I experimented with all of the settings I could think of til I got things sorted out.
Go into Settings/Privacy, search, and services/Address bar and search, and at the bottom you will see a selection for "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar". Default is search box, but change it to address bar. My working theory is that no matter whether or not you have Edge set to display the New Tab or your previous tabs on startup, if the search box is selected here Edge will force the New Tab to display in order for you to have a search box to use. I always use the address bar anyway, but had just never changed this setting. Anyway, it fixed my problem. I can now shut Edge down with the X or simply shut down the computer while it's running and when I go back in later all of my tabs are displayed on startup.
I seem to remember in the past that Microsoft makes the search box default because searching within the New Tab page itself gives them some sort of leverage toward presenting Bing searches. So this setting obviously needs to be changed anyway. That's only an anecdotal observation so take it for what it's worth. Hope this helps someone.
