I had some issues with my video card hardware failing and I thought maybe my install was running a little long in the tooth. I like to repave my system occasionally anyway. I ended up going through a heap of problems trying to get MX (and other distros) sorted before I figured out what was going on and had to sit on Xubuntu for a little while.

I picked up a new video card and got some great help from the forums which let me get the latest release installed and I couldn't be happier. I have a little power management issue but short of that, everything is exactly how I want it (which is nearly stock MX Linux). MX feels to me like the right mix of the old and new in Linux and has such an awesome set of tools. The only time I ever think about "switching" to anything it's maybe the fluxbox release just to tinker with it but XFCE has suited me well.

I've been using this distro for a few years now and I found it by way of antiX, which I've used on older computers for ages. Both distros just work the way I like out of the box and I'm grateful to have stumbled on it. I hope to be a little more active in the community to help give back a little. I watched MX rise on the distrowatch rankings so I'm sure there's been an influx of users. I hope they're having the same terrific experience I am.
