Using the repos that are enabled by default, I am unable to find several applications that I was expecting to use: Amarok, Joplin, Notepadqq, Skanpage, and XNView. The repos that I have enabled are in the Quick System Info file"

I see some additional repos listed on https://mxlinux.org/uncategorized/repos-mx-21/. Should I add these through Sysaptic, and are there other repos that would be useful?

Thank you!

Change the repos to SLC Utah, see if things appear then.

(use the repo manager)

Some of those packages are not present in debian bullseye, either. You may file a porting request, but some SW might be too recent to be easily back-ported to plasma 5.20.

notepadqq *is* present in the MX test repo , see "MX package installer, test tab"

joplin devs recommend their appimage, but there is also a flatpak available.

amarok is discontinued as far as I know.

XNView is available from the Popular apps tab of mx-packageinstaller, and also as a flatpak. Its license does not allow hosting in our repo.

skanpage is not available as far as I know. skanlite is, as well as simplescan. This one *might* need a later KDE framework than what is available in bullseye right now, not sure on that score.

OK, I just learned something...a search in the MX Package Installer does not cover all of the tabs, so I need to search each tab separately, while a single search in Synaptic covers all of the available repos. I found XNView and Notepadqq. Joplin is new, I just read about it a few weeks ago on Its Foss. Skanpage, which is a KDE app, is also fairly new.

Thank You all!

Except that Synaptic only searches the standard repos that are enabled. It doesnt search MX Test Repo or Debian backports (only enabled when you install from there), flathub (for flatpaks), or popular apps that are directly downloaded from the sites of the developers in question. That's where you use MXPI. And the reason each tab is separately searched is because some are not enabled until you use/search it, flatpak searches use a different terminal command in the backend, and the popular apps tab is simply a collection of special scripts to download packages from different web locations, install them and in some cases, to configure them for you so you don't have to do it yourself.
