Evolution mail client not updating [Solved]
Evolution mail client not updating
I'm on MX19
Evolution new emails do show up in the inbox, but older emails which were deleted or filed away (via the webmail) are still listed on Evolution inbox.
I did uninstall and re-install apt get evolution and got the same version 3.30.5, same problem.
I wonder is there a later version on MX21?

Re: Evolution mail client not updating
We need some more data than this to determine that.
What version do you have installed, for one.
I see in Synaptic that 3.38.3-1 is the latest one. No newer one in the test repo.

Re: Evolution mail client not updating
I've 3.30.5 installed. It's odd you say Synaptic shows 3.38.3, the Synaptic I open from MX19 shows 3.30.5. I suppose that could be the problem.Eadwine Rose wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 11:33 am We need some more data than this to determine that.

Re: Evolution mail client not updating [Solved]
I am on 3.44.1 having installed the flatpack, after having had a bunch of proglems with gmail/google contacts and calendar with the default package. Everything now works great for me
FWIW am on a number of OS reinstalls, and seemed to need a clean system to get on the latest update branch.

that looks like the business. I am not familiar with flatpacks, never installed one before, hopefully I'll find out.
I'm using Tbird meantime, it works fine, I just don't like the look of it. I think I'll upgrade to MX21 when I've time, then tackle Evolution 3.44
Re: Evolution mail client not updating
Had never done so either, but the way I managed it In MX 21 was simply via the standard package installer. Last tab has an option to install flatpacks! Must admit it's all a bit of a black box to me, but working just fineLinnitXa wrote: Fri Jun 10, 2022 8:14 am I am not familiar with flatpacks, never installed one before, hopefully I'll find out.

Re: Evolution mail client not updating
Thanks, I should manage with that.
Re: Evolution mail client not updating
I finally installed MX21.2 and have installed Evolution 3.44.4 from MX Flatpacks repo - just as easy as any other install from MX installer.
Thanks for the suggestion.
