Fluxbox Menu Editor GUI

One of the chief reasons I stick with Fluxbox is the menu which is fairly simple and configurable.
With the MX-21 however I can no longer utilize the python gui app known as the Fluxbox Menu Editor https://sourceforge.net/projects/fluxmenu.berlios/.
It has worked dependably for me over years of Fluxbox iterations, but now I can't use it, and I don't know why.
Without it, editing the menu script is extremely tedious because my script is now almost 100 pages long if I open it in LibreOffice (although I edit it in my text editor). It is a veritable labyrinth of submenus which in a sort of way resembles many rooms and shelves of a public library. The Fluxbox Menu Editor made editing the menu a breeze, and was especially good for making browser bookmarks and launchers for all types of files and apps.
I wonder if anyone else still utilizes the Fluxbox Menu Editor.
When I try to make it work now, I get a complaint that I need pygtk installed. I've fiddled quite a bit with this, but I fear the technical aspects are way over my head. (I suspect I have everything I need to make it work, but have no clue how to point to the proper tools).
I really appreciate Jerry's great peripherals for MX-Linux's Fluxbox version. Perhaps the Fluxbox Menu Gui Editor needs a rewrite or modernization. A GUI editor makes the Fluxbox menu super powerful-- any one who could get the old one to work or create a new one would be a real hero to me!
Any insights or suggestions?
