ReiserFS survey

ReiserFS is now
will soon be deprecated from the kernel with plans to remove it in 2025.
So, I'm interested to know how MX and antiX users view or use the ReiserFS/Reiser4/Reiser5 file systems. Why? How do you find its performance? Are you planning to use it in the future? Have you migrated to or from ReiserFS, even to a newer version like Reiser4 or Reiser5 (experimental I presume)?

I briefly used it, I think it was like 15 years ago. It was good at that time, but in the meantime we got better file systems that are better maintained and supported.

When ext3 was new and multi core processors rare (2.4.x kernel days), reiser was a good choice and I used it for a while. Ext3 was a better choice for most applications by the time Linux 2.6.x became popular. Don't think I used reiser for anything after 2005.

Used it previously. But for a couple of months now I've been using F2FS and am thankful you have finally implemented it in MX!

Pretty much the same as other MXers.
I tried ReiserFS way back in the days of experimenting with Suse, before I found Mepis.
It was OK, but I never did anything of sufficient size to see any advantage over ext.
File systems are like air, as long as they are there and working, I tend not to notice them much, and ext4 fits that bill well.
