Black Screen after short inactivity, MX-19

#1 Post by keos »

Hello,

After a short time of inactivity the screen hangs, I have tried in xfce4-screensaver to make adjustments but to no avail, including disabling the screensaver.

Through the terminal I tried without results a recommendation I saw in a forum:

'xset -q' but after applying 'xset -dpms' to disable DPMS, as instructed, it doesn't work for me, it stays on again after reboot.

Code: Select all

We know that the screensaver in MX19 is extremely buggy. The proven solution is to remove it completely via MXPi, Synaptic, or the command line.
HP 15; ryzen 3 5300U APU; 500 Gb SSD; 8GB ram
HP 17; ryzen 3 3200; 500 GB SSD; 12 GB ram
Idea Center 3; 12 gen i5; 256 GB ssd;

In Linux, newer isn't always better. The best solution is the one that works.

I tried again, but this time, after applying the command 'xset -q' and 'xset -dpms' to disable DPMS i didt not reboot the system but went back to XFCE4-screensaver and did again the usual settings ... only then reboot, it worked!

Thank you.
