I noticed on the Theme tab of MX-Tweak that the "Application" column only appears to change the window titlebar color, although many of the names in that column also also appear in the "Window Manager" column.
I am having difficulty understanding the files under /usr/share/themes and how they relate to the items in the "Application" column.
I installed a new xfce/xfwm4 theme (https://www.xfce-look.org/p/1165653/ with customizable titlebar color) which appears in the "Window Manager" column, but I have no idea how to set the color. Somewhere on the website I obtained the theme from mentioned how to do it, but I can't find that info now (it's rather obscure & hidden, not obvious at all).
When I look at the xpm files in that theme the color is not what I see; it appears to be overriden by the selection in the "Application" column.
Can anyone explain or point me to info on how I can change the window titlebar color?

In XFCE4, right-click desktop > Applications > Settings > Window Manager
That should allow you to change the titlebar color from among whatever colors are included in the theme.
As far customizing it to a completely different color, I don't have that theme so I can't say for sure. One way I have done it in the past when I didn't like a color was to change it manually in /usr/share/themes/<theme name>/xfwm4, where you then open the individual files in gimp (or whatever graphics program you're using) and change each part of the file image to the color/s you want. It's a bit of a tedious process, but it's not impossible by any means. Then in ../xfwm4/themerc you can change the text colors to what you want if necessary.
One tip: Don't forget to copy the <theme name> directory to a new directory ( <theme name2>, for example) before starting so you don't change the files in the original theme.
