Scribus 1.5.8 released today

I just got the announcement in an email today.
This is the first release of the 1.5 series.
Up until now the lasted versions have been in the 1.4 series.
They are no longer going to make updates to the 1.4 series.
Can we get this added to the test repo to test it?
Thanks

Not exactly. 1.5.1 was released in 2016. 1.57 was released in April 2021.

Scribus 1.5.6.1+dfsg-2 is in MX-21 now.
1.5.7+dfsg-5~bpo11+1 is in Debian backports right now.
I know you are asking for 1.5.8, but have you tried what is in backports yet?
This could be packaged for MX-21 without too much hassle while 1.5.8 settles a bit after the first day of release.

Sounds good to let it settle in awhile.
I have not kept up what Scribus has been doing.

Thanks, but this is the Packaging Request section of the forum. Not everyone wants to use other options that use a huge amount of storage space and want to be able to install from official repos, which is what this thread is for.
I’m sure we’ll get Scribus packaged when time is available.

Perhaps move this thread out to the general section??? Unless the OP intended to mean to make a package request :)

What do you mean “intended”?
Pretty sure the last sentence in the first post says that is what they want.
People shouldn’t derail threads just so they get moved. People need to respect the original poster.
