MX21 new install problem connecting with iphone

#1 Post by dsbytes »

Yesterday I installed MX21 on my Dell Laptop and it went pretty smoothly. I'm really excited to get going with this new release! Thank you for all the hard work.

I would like to be able to copy pictures from my iPhone 11 to my MX hard drive and so I installed libimobiledevice and ifuse. Oddly, I was able to get it working earlier in the day and copied over 2 of the folders containg pictures. Then I shut down and intended to finish up later. However after rebooting, I was not able to see any of the iphone folders from the phone in my file manager. I logged in again under systemd. Now I am able to pair with the iphone and get information about the device. ideviceinfo also shows large amounts of information about the phone, but there are still no iphone folders showing up in the file manager. I don't really understand how libimobiledevice works and how it interacts with iFuse. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

The iPhone 11 is running iOS 14.8.1. My new MX21 install looks as follows:

Update: I was able to mount the device with iDeviceMounter in MX Tools. I suspect this used the libimobiledevice and/or the iFuse. At any rate, the phone never prompted me to indicate "Trusted" as it did previously. Large numbers of pictures transferred without problem.
