jerry- a chess front end for MX-21?

What is the etiquette?

Is it too early to request packages for MX-21, which is just into the RC stage?
Are the packagers too busy with the release?

I am looking for jerry, a nice chess front end for the chess engines like stockfish.
It was in the MX-19 repos, so can it be upgraded for MX-21?

There is a snap here, but it only lists for Debian 10. (That page last updated January 2021)

Its kinda TOO early IMHO :p , but its ok to ask.

I actually tried to package it already for MX-21 after one of your other posts... but ran into issues and put it on the back-burner for the time being.

I'll revisit it soon if someone else doesn't get to it before then.

SwampRabbit,

Thanks for your efforts, I had no idea you tried.

I can wait, as I still have MX-19.4 where jerry is fully loaded.
I hope the issues are not too daunting.

Thanks. Tonight, hopefully I can download the RC, and tomorrow install.

its not a problem, I sometimes attempt quick test builds just to see if something can be done in the meantime.

I tried to forward port 3.2.0 from Ubuntu 20.10 since that is the latest one already packaged.... no luck right out the gate... have to play with it more.

Not sure why no other Debian distro hasn't packaged it, maybe no one cares when there is a Snap package?
