Logitech webcam 046d:080c

#1 Post by anti-ewaste »

It recognizes as a UVC camera in Zoom, but VLC just hangs and gucview says no video device found. I see this ID in Zoom but it has no picture after I click on the Start Video button, the lights on the camera comes on for a second.

For good measure I tried plugging in a power cable to the hub into a second USB port as well as having it connected directly to the PC since some mentioned that in getting Logitech cameras to work with the Raspberry Pi, which didn't work either.

The driver is supposed to be in the kernel? Found this but not sure how to implement: https://linux-hardware.org/index.php?id=usb:046d-080c - and this https://christitus.com/logitech-c920-linux-driver/ (haven't tried)

fwiw the label on the USB cabel says V-U0022, I guess it's an HD Pro C920.

Okay it just started working, (I've tried many times in the past) the only thing I've done is

Code: Select all

sudo udevadm info --query=all /dev/video1 | grep 'VENDOR_ID\|MODEL_ID\|SERIAL_SHORT'
Makes no sense right?

Timeout issue? Does not work after rebooting. Zoom lags, no picture..
