The picture was taken with an old Soligor C/D 2/135 from the 50s. Technically, compared to modern lenses, sometimes questionable, but with its own look.
A diva, not really sharp, extremely front/streaky light sensitive, etc, etc.

@Jerry3904 The full size images I have downloaded are jpg or png so they do not have a separate layer for the logo.

I haven't saved the gimp file with layers. But I could also share the original ones without the logo on request.

Just as inspiration: I saw this video the other day showing how math creates flower spirals. The part I linked to shows the golden ratio producing the sunflower.

I wonder if something like that (computer-generated) could make a nice/subtle background (compared to a photo? Or, an overlay/blend with a photo?). Watch from the start. It's interesting. Maybe someone would be inspired. I can imagine images, but wouldn't know how to do it. I just think it's powerful that nothing more than pure math creates such patterns (and that builders apparently knew this ration thousands? of years ago). It seems like it could be an interesting technology nod.

Several photographs of these minutes opportunity. These bees do not have bare legs.

the host changes the title. so 1686 the first scene, 1797 the second scene.

That earlier, first picture of demxert-globemallow is better as a login screen than as a desktop wallpaper; the nature of the color gradient to b/w -ish with the box in the middle looks okay(?) I notice that too many sticks with some window transparency can look like a cracked screen. distrcrackting.

That webpage you found on the MX official site was created early on as a test page but ultimately not utilised for the MX21 submission exercise. It may eventually be removed. The actual guidelines for MX21 submissions are set out in the link I posted in the first post of this thread.

If you wish to present your pics to the community for their enjoyment and future consideration, please consider uploading your images to a picture hosting site.

If you check out the User Submitted Wallpaper subforum, you will see that there were members who posted their creations in between the MX19 and MX21 WP exercises, who then officially re-submitted those images for the MX21 WP exercise.

Yeah, I'm really sorry, but voting on the MX21 submissions has already commenced by the whole Dev team.

But like I said, members can submit them for newer releases. And some members just submit pics for the community's enjoyment in between releases anyway.
