Firefox 89 and Facebook
Am running MX Linux 19.4 64 bit on a desktop and carried out the latest updates via Synaptic which included Firefox 89.
End result that Firefox is in operation okay except that Facbook will not open coming with the message
"Secure Connection Failed
"An error occurred during a connection to www.facebook.com. SSL_ERROR_DC_EXPIRED
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Did I do something wrong or is there a glitch somewhere.
Regards Peter
Firefox 89 and Facebook Failure [Solved]
Re: Firefox 89 and Facebook Failure
Clear your cookies and cache, disable or remove any browser add-ons/extensions and themes. A web search will show you that this is standard troubleshooting procedure whenever you have troubles with one particular website. I have FF 89 and I access Facebook every day so it's not an issue with the browser itself, it's something on your end. BTW if you click on Help within Firefox there's a troubleshooting (safe) mode that will restart FF with no add-ons or themes.
Please read the Forum Rules, How To Ask For Help, How to Break Your System and Don't Break Debian. Always include your full Quick System Info (QSI) with each and every new help request.

Re: Firefox 89 and Facebook Failure
Thanks JayM for the clue of it being at my end.
My MX is a bog standard fresh installation which I have not altered and only applied updates.
The help info on Firefox is a bit bewildering for me, but I tried on chance, setting my date back by one day and on doing that Firefox-Facebook opened up and works properly. I am able to then correct the date and Facebook functions normally until the computer is rebooted/switched off. On restarting the computer it is necessary to switch the date back one day to get Facebook to open.
I cannot fathom why this should be while all else functions correctly. Am I missing a setting in "MX Time and Date", or could there be a problem with the time and date signal on the local server here. We do have problems with time on phones and complicated when daylight saving is switched on and off.

Problem Solved as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/quest ... er-1422778
"This was a hidden feature up to Firefox 89 but is now enabled. If we can't get it to work, here is how you would turn it back off:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste security.tls.enable_delegated_credentials and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to switch the value from true to false"
