antiX-bullseye-beta1 iso files available. 64 bit only

We have 2 versions for experienced users to try. One using SysVinit, the other runit.

antiX-bullseye-b1-x64-full is a beta quality release for experienced testers of antiX to test and provide feedback.
Do not use this as your main OS.

* 4.9.0-264 and 5.10.27 kernels on the live iso. Please try both in your tests.
* grub/UEFI live boot changes
* no virtualbox-guest packages

The implementation of runit in this edition is closer to how runit works on Void and Artix linux.
Sysvinit has been replaced with various antiX runit scripts and our much smaller sysvinit package.

Please post any feedback at antiX forums and state if you are testing live, frugal, in a virtual machine or on bare metal.

Files here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix- ... s/Testing/

Edit 11 June 2021 – Note the newly uploaded SysVinit version that fixes a bug in the repos.

for folks trying out the new grub menus that appear on USB, you can select the 5.10 kernel via the advanced options submenu, just like the other boot codes.

we are aware of this one, but UEFI boot on the 4.9 kernel in virtualbox probably will not give you a desktop unless you use the VB VMSVGA driver. the 5.10 and all instances of legacy (syslinux) boot seem to work fine with all VB drivers.

Thanks, anticapitalista, for the new beta. I will be testing as much as I can to help out.

I want to thank everyone involved in this release, and specially @fehlix for the fantastic Grub live-boot menus. This is what was missing for a fantastic UEFI live-USB experience. The text menus were great, but this makes it much easier and intuitive.

Also, great work with the multi-kernel ISO. @anticapitalista, do I need to remove the 5.10 kernel (if selecting the 4.9 kernel) before installation? Or is this contemplated on the installer (haven't tested it yet, as I want to save all 21a2 work I have done so far).
EDIT: answering my own question. You DO need to remove the 5.10 kernel before installing if you wish for the 4.9 kernel to be the default.

Thanks for the release. I will be concentrating my efforts on testing the runit beta release as I wish it to be my main antiX system once it is stable.
