Which program do you use to edit your screenshots made with the default MX xfce4-screenshooter program? (Please do not suggest another screenshooter)

It depends on what editing is needed. For most things, Nomacs will do it for me.
BTW, my screenshot program is HotShots, which also has some editing capability.

I use pinta. It's what I'm already used to.

I use gimp on almost every image editing, but I know how to use gimp. Most might recommend pinta, so go with that.

Pinta from test repository?
Not bad!

Gimp. I have used it for years so have good knowledge of the common functions.

Surely that isn't the default screenshot program for XFCE nor MX?
If I have to open another program to edit a screenshot, I usually just open krita which I have as an Appimage in my shared data partition for all distros. I just copy the desktop file to /.local/share/applications and run it.
You might also want to try azpainter. I tested it a few time previously and found it easy to work out how to use.
viewtopic.php?f=140&t=55880 (not sure if it's still in the Test repo or now in Main repo)
PS. Most of the time I use ksnip though, because it has nice editing functions for a screenshot program.

Am using a script which calls 'scrot' to take the screenshot, save it to ~/.screenshots folder -- and automatically open it in an image editor. Gimp is my preferred editor.
The key-combo determines the screengrab ('PrtSc' for full desk / 'Ctrl+PrtSc' for 5s delay / 'Winkey+PrtSc' for active window / 'Alt+PrtSc' to select area)

Ksnip does have good basic editing capabilities. I do use it for annotating the screenshot, (arrows, text, highlighting, etc).

You're right! I put it forward as a proposal, but it wasn't taken up. I have it on my Snapshot that gets installed multiple times, and had forgotten. I will edit my post.
(Maybe the OP's query makes a case for it to be default?)
