There is an external sound card Creative FX (mod. 980720) with a built-in volume control.
When initializing the system with a connected card, everything works as it should.
If the card is connected after initialization, the control does not work (but shows an icon with a change in the volume level). In reality, the volume can be changed only from the programs themselves.
Checked both live-cd and installation. Lenovo T61, X200, T420 computers. The problem has been present since version 18 (when I started trying MX)
Anyone have any ideas about the desync volume controls or a solution to this issue?
PS. under ubuntu on the same computers everything always works as it should

So, as the first difference: Have you tried when booted with systemd ?Charon wrote: Fri Dec 11, 2020 2:27 pmPS. under ubuntu on the same computers everything always works as it should
Also, as always: Quick System Info from Menu please.
Re: Problems with external usb-c sound card (Creative)
One of the reasons I am trying to switch to MX is the absence of systemd. Therefore, all tests were carried out without it.Huckleberry Finn wrote: Fri Dec 11, 2020 3:03 pmSo, as the first difference: Have you tried when booted with systemd ?Charon wrote: Fri Dec 11, 2020 2:27 pmPS. under ubuntu on the same computers everything always works as it should
And I also suspect that such a problem is related to the initialization of the hardware.
