Hello.

Thank you for delivering such a great distro.

I would like to know if any of you also have your login screen (SDDM) blinking one time after boot. Is there any way to solve that issue?

Thank you

Is it booting through?

If so, please post your quick system info.

It works fine. It just happens when I boot with sysvinit

we do a little playing around with sddm to get the shutdown/reboot buttons to work on sysVinit. the blink is part of that. most systems actually don't blink, they just stay black until sddm comes up.

if you don't mind the buttons not working, you can get rid of the blink by removing sddm-modified-init package and then reinstalling sddm.

Code: Select all

sudo apt purge sddm-modified-init
sudo apt install --reinstall sddm
before rebooting, check to make sure there is a /etc/init.d/sddm file.

note this button issue is strictly with sddm. the logout/reboot/shutdown buttons from KDE/plasma logout screen work fine in all cases.
