Please update papirus icons theme and papirus-folders script to the latest version. (idea from this thread)
I'm putting those two into the sam thread because they are closely related.

* papirus-icon-theme *

• App: Papirus is a free and open source SVG icon theme for Linux

• Latest Release version: v20200901

• Status in MX Stable: v20200201 (test repo has even older version); Debian backport: v20200801

• Reason: new and/or modified icons and new folder color options

* papirus-folders script *

• App: papirus-folders - a bash script that allows changing the color of folders in Papirus icon theme

• Webpage: https://github.com/PapirusDevelopmentTe ... us-folders

• Latest Release version: v1.8.0

• Status in MX Stable repo: v1.3.1; Test repo: 1.5.0

• Reason: new folder color options

Suggestion: make an announcement thread because there's a new version every month (for papirus icon theme) and it would be nice to have those packages updated regularly. (Also, the same could be packaged for MX18).

EDIT: papirus-icon-theme v20200901 & papirus-folders v1.8.0 are packaged for Test repo. Thanks to Stevo.

I'll take a look at it, though this seems to be peak disaster season for MX packagers: fire here in California and hurricane season for Tim in Florida.

This icons stuff is really not a priority. (One can always download icon pack from github.) But it would really be nice to have those two packages regularly updated in the future, after you sort out all your real life stuff. It is, after all, default icon pack in MX Linux.

I've sent them up to the test repo, but that may take a day or so to appear. Grab them early here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aoI5L2 ... sp=sharing

Buster-backports has also been updating the icon package fairly often, but right now they are a month behind.

I will be waiting for them to come up in repos and report back. (I've got limited data plan).

Also, I plan to bump this thread up when/if new version of papirus-folders script comes along.

Various comments there paint a fuller picture, for instance why at one point I requested we NOT upgrade to the latest papirus package for the moment (and in fact prior to that, they had symlinked existing icons for MX apps not knowing we were about to debut our own new ones. I worked with them to ensure some consistency otherwise people using papirus would never see our new icons).

OK, I spotted an issue that I kind of expected in the MX17/18 version. Will post my comments in the package request thread for MX17/18.

It's the darn mx-updater icon again.

After this I'm going to check in MX19.

And you will note an issue in MX19 with regard to Conky Manager 2, which I've posted in the original MX19 thread.

That is why we don't just pull in every update to Papirus without checking first.

That's why they are in the test repo, too. We need to find and correct these issues before we push them onto every user.
