Please update Whisker-menu-plugin to v2.4.6 (or v2.4.5)

• App: Whisker Menu - an alternate application launcher for Xfce

• Status in MX: v2.4.4 (Main repo) & v2.4.3. (Testing repo)
• Status in Debian: v2.4.5 (Bullseye) & v2.4.6 (Sid)
• Reason: "Fix extra key press to select search items" in v2.4.5 according to this.
  On my system I'm holding Whisker menu v2.3.1 (from Debian stable) just because of this bug.

Of course, feel free to put it in "Testing repo". I'm willing to test it.

Yeah, Graeme just tweeted about that upgrade a week ago. Mostly translation additions IIRC.

I have both packaged, figured I'd give you a chance to test both since you are so helpful with that. Both don't "need testing" but you never know with our older version of the panel.
I assume Debian didn't replace 2.4.5 with 2.4.6 in Bullseye yet due to how fast the releases came out and time for testing.
So making sure 2.4.6 works without issue is important, I'd rather go with 2.4.6 because saves some time sending one then the other to our repo manager too, and especially with the fixes in 2.4.6.

I haven't tested them yet myself, but will do it tomorrow at some point.

Thanks for the update request unnameduser! This update will fix one of the very few (!) aggravations I had with MX-19.

That minor aggravation is when entering a search term in the Whisker menu with multiple options returned, having to press the down arrow key twice to move the highlighted entry off the first option because the first key depression does nothing. FYI, that behavior does not happen in MX-18.

You can test it too if you’re up for it, the .debs are in .tar.gz files at those link locations. The more testing by users the better.

I just installed the 2.4.6 update and so far it's good. Testing continues//tks

I just installed xfce4-whiskermenu-plugin_2.4.6-1~mx19+1_amd64.
It works. Issue I had with old version is fixed as advertised.

I will continue using it, tinker with it and report back.

I had to weed whack the yard earlier... trust me I'd rather be sitting at the computer hitting F5 waiting for testing responses lol

I'll wait a few more days before I ask for it to get added to the repos.

I did some tinkering.
- Turned on/off various options in preferences that I even usually don't use, everything seems to work properly.
- Whisker also works after log-out/log-in, as well as after reboot.
- Changed system theme, whisker follows.
- Tested transparency - works; Resizing - works.
- search also works properly, as well as "search actions"
- ...

I hope someone will test i386.deb also.

Well, I went to the coast for some swimming and quality time with my girlfriend. Soooo, your F5 thingy doesn't sound very attractive from that point of view

I can test the i386 build in a VM easy if no one else tests it.

Do you mean that the beach is better than refreshing a webpage all day? It’s a tough choice...
