This poll is for forum members who are interested in MX19-KDE.
You may be someone who's already using Plasma anyway, whether in MX or in another distro. Or, you may be someone currently using our flagship MX-XFCE who may be interested in switching to MX-KDE, but may not be as used to the Plasma interface compared to XFCE.
The Dev Team would like some indication of members' preferences and usage habits when it comes to the application menu in Plasma.
Note that this is not a binding vote, meaning that the option with the most votes might not necessarily be the final choice for MX19-KDE, but it would certainly be helpful in our decision-making.

Re: MX19-KDE: POLL on application menu/launcher
I prefer and always switch to the more old fashioned Application Launcher from the default "slab".

Is that the alternative menu? Did you vote in the poll because I still see only 4 votes, which was the number before you posted.uncle mark wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2020 11:06 am I prefer and always switch to the more old fashioned Application Launcher from the default "slab".

When I responded the actual poll wasn't displayed. I just now did withasqwerth wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2020 11:14 amIs that the alternative menu? Switch to the preinstalled alternative menu (name = "Application Menu: launcher based on cascading popup menus")

Re: MX19-KDE: POLL on application menu/launcher
The beta shows the MX KDE edition is shaping up excellently, if only a little too close to KDE defaults for my liking. I refrained from stating my preferences in the feedback thread, perhaps i can indulge here ? Would the devs please consider:
- switching to the traditional application menu i/o the launcher (to look more like the XFCE edition)
- enabling Alt-Tab cover-switch effect (to look less like the XFCE edition ;-)
- changing the konsole defaullt color-scheme (to say solarised or breeze) and make its font slightly bigger
- shipping with LibreOfice v6.4
Re: MX19-KDE: POLL on application menu/launcher
I voted for "Others (you may wish to post what you do/choose in this thread)" Add the Whisker menu to KDE.
I am command line illiterate.
I copy & paste to the terminal. Liars, Wiseguys, Trolls, and those without manners will be added to my ignore list.

In Desktop Folder Settings -
Wallpaper-
Layout to Desktop Containment Settings
and
Mouse Actions -
Right-Button to Application Menu
Left-Button to Standard Menu
To get a Openbox like right-click menu.

Re: MX19-KDE: POLL on application menu/launcher
Getting back to the poll question: I like the default one, the "alternative" one reminds me too much of Windows 95 or so, yuck! (I realize that some people are nostalgic)
