Community artwork submissions for MX-KDE

#1 Post by asqwerth »

I'm starting this thread at Gerson's request, because it would have got lost amongst the bug reports in the bug reporting/feedback thread for Beta 2, and it was off-topic there anyway.

Anyway, here is his icon/logo/graphic.

As I said there: viewtopic.php?p=587832#p587832
I would prefer to open this to the community to create artwork and wallpaper exploring the combination of different elements of the MX and KDE/plasma name and/or graphical logos (KDE is more than just the gear + K logo, there's also the logo comprising the > with 3 dots ).

Gerson's graphic is just the start. Let loose your imagination, people....

If there are some really nice pics or artwork , it might find its way to the iso or perhaps the future mx20-kde.
It can be graphics, icons, logos, wallpaper, or whatever. If you're skilled in creating Plasma desktop themes, look and feel sets, widgets, etc, you could post here as well. Note that this thread is not about suggesting what existing themes or art you want to include in MX19-KDE, but about creating your own.

For instance, if you have a different take or vision for a possible logo/graphic/icon, please contribute it. Maybe you wish to tweak and build on something another member posts, or it inspires you to create a wallpaper with those graphics. Just do it.

While we cannot promise it will end up in MX19-KDE or the MX20 release, who knows? And regardless of whether it ends up on the iso, it will benefit the MX community as a whole.

PS. there is also nothing stopping anyone from contributing artwork specific to the main XFCE edition or to MX in general! Just start a relevant thread in this Art sub-forum. We keep track regularly of potential art contributions to the next MX release.

Antech, is the "MX" look dependent on a font that must be installed?

The "MX" in the svg files don't look like your screenshot, and extend past the boundaries of the canvas.

I'm using the San Francisco fonts in KDE beta 2 and they improve the visual aspect a lot, it would be a good option for the final version.
I leave the download link.
