I have looked but has anyone installed the deepin desktop?
Is it possible or utterly stupid?

Deepin desktop is not available for MX or for Debian. A few Deepin apps are available in the MX Package Installer Stable Repo tab, if you would like to try them. The music player is quite nice (see pics), and the screenshot tool and image viewer (see pic) work well. The movie player would not install for me - complained about a missing library dependency. You should try some of the apps, see what you think.

If there's no Deepin respin listed in the list of respins that others have done, then there isn't one. If OP can figure out how to install Deepin's desktop environment and make it work in MX he/she could be the first.

Looked nice... but perhaps its a bit of work to get it on debian... and of course the video makes for a lot of thought.
