SOLVED Error on updating

#1 Post by Racer24 »

Almost all is well & good here but I keep getting an error on updates that I can't quite figure out

Loading new broadcom-sta-6.30.223.271 DKMS files...
Building for 5.6.0-7.1-liquorix-amd64
Building initial module for 5.6.0-7.1-liquorix-amd64
Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 5.6.0-7.1-liquorix-amd64 (x86_64)
Consult /var/lib/dkms/broadcom-sta/6.30.223.271/build/make.log for more information.
dpkg: error processing package broadcom-sta-dkms (--configure):
installed broadcom-sta-dkms package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 10

Errors were encountered while processing:
broadcom-sta-dkms
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

just wondering if there is something in the liquorix kernel that is causing the error or something else it doesn't like or misses

Thanks :) Ron

Please edit your post (using the pencil icon) and wrap the system information inside of code tags. Example:
log file contents, configuration file contents and terminal text go here
Code: Select all

to make it look like this, which is a lot easier to read for large amounts of text:
1. It really stands out as being separate from the text that you're typing due to the different background and font colors
2. It also puts it inside of its own little frame with its own scrollbars, making it easier to navigate.

You can just select the text by dragging your mouse over it while holding the left button down then click the </> icon in the forum's editor's toolbar.
Thanks.

Did you noticed the last lines of the quick-system-info run displayed on the screen:

Code: Select all

Report copied to system clipboard
The report was nicely wrapped between
these
code-tags/brackets
and copied to the clipboard, read for just press Ctrl-V to paste. Those code-tags do make the text better readable for anyone who might try to find an answer to your help-request. BTW, have you tried this:

Code: Select all

sudo apt purge broadcom-sta-dkms
:puppy:

If you don't have a broadcom chipset wireless net adapter then you don't need the broadcom-sta packages.
If you do have one you use sometimes then you may need to upgrade broadcom-sta-dkms to the version in the AHS repo to get it to work with the 5.6 kernel.
