My goal in this post is to thank the entire MX Linux team for the excellent operating system they have created. The integration of the new version of Debian and XFCE with the MX Linux project is simply spectacular. It is a pleasure to boot the system ...

Have to agree, as a Linux newbie, it's a pleasure to run & manage. Still figuring out some of the stuff, but I'm very pleased with the interface & nimbleness of the system. My wife is using it now & really can't tell the difference in what she does for the basic stuff she uses. Great job folks, much appreciated! Noseoil from Raton, NM.

Since I have a perfectly working MX 17/18 installation and snapshot, my interest for MX-19 is more driven by curiosity than need. MX 19 is no doubt very good. It is very fast which is surprising given the Intel patches. I have had some issues with Xfce Screensaver that sometimes activates and sometimes doesn't. Xscreensaver has been reliable for me so might use that instead.
I'm keeping an eye on antiX 19 and I think I can get much of the MX functionality there too. The question is if I'm too dumb and lazy for that distro or not. We'll see. There is always the time factor too unfortunately. Only so much time to play any given day...
If there isn't much buzz about MX19 it's probably because people are busy using MX18. Or watching Netflix. Interesting title of this thread btw, maybe so stands for iso or os. But most likely "sistema operativo".

Note to self and others: SysVinit is a good option. However if you run into problems try with systemd first. This applies to AppImages, Flatpaks, GitHub packages and even some Debian packages.

FWIW, the live system in both MX and antiX makes it very easy for you to try before you "buy". You can save changes and tweaks with persistence and/or live-remaster. You can then create a new iso containing these changes with snapshot or you can install and the changes will carry over. Or you can keep running it live.
If you want to install without creating room for a new partition, you can do a frugal install which will copy the live system to an existing partition. You can frugal install multiple systems to the same partition but there are limits.
