Repology shows Sid has 1.6.2+git, which is our preferred source for pre-debianized source files:

That site is really handy.

Note that version of IceWM causes some issues with icons on antiX.

Thank you for the information ... on .svg icons or .png icons or both ?

Default papirus menu icons (png)

... I use Papirus .svg icons, so I will see.
Edit:
... Seems to be an alpha channel issue (with some png, and maybe svg too)
https://github.com/bbidulock/icewm/issues/392
Edit2: Tested: In fact I have this issue (alpha channel /alpha threshold) for some .svg icons too, but only few (on my eepc x32) mostly into the toolbar, less into the menu. Not very annoying with the small eepc screen. I hope than the next version of IceWM will be OK.
Same issue on VirtualBox MX19-x64 & IceWM 1.6.2 (mostly for .png icons in the toolbar, but for some .svg too)

Oops, can you tell me what you installed or configured to get the menus that way?
Mine comes up very different...
