antiX-19: Geany 1.33 lacks markdown preview [SOLVED]

One of my most-used applications in antiX is Geany for manuscript editing. For this I rely on the markdown preview plug-in, which is apparently absent or non-functional in Geany 1.33 (the default editor in antiX-19). I've searched the antiX and MX forums without any mention, though some online groups mention problems with the preview plug-in in Geany 1.33. I've attempted working around the issue by trying different versions of Geany and different versions of the plug-in, but none are compatible with my current install of antiX-19. I have two questions: (1) Am I missing something in getting the functionality to work in running Geany 1.33 on antiX-19 ? (2) Has anyone else experienced the dysfunction and found a workaround? Or am I the only one who requires this functionality? Worst case scenario is switching editors while waiting for a later release. Not a huge deal, but still. Thanks for any opinions.

Geany 1.33 uses Gtk3. Older versions used Gtk2. Gtk2 plugins won't work with a Gtk3 main program.
The markdown plugin wasn't updated in time for Debian to include it in Buster, but it should be buildable now. I'll have a look...

I finally got the geany markdown plugin to build. It's now in the MX-19 Test repo, but I see you posted in the antiX section. You can get both the 32 & 64 debs here:

They should work for debian buster based antiX as well.

Hello, I tried installing under MX18/stretch but got the following error:

Post #2 above seems self explanatory, apart from, you know, the whole mx18 not being Buster thing.....

Edited: oops, I just noticed you were installing a package marked for mx17. Maybe there's a corresponding newer version of geany for mx17/18 in Test repo?

Geany in the regular MX 18.3 repo is version 1.33 but seven of the plugins in the repo are version 1.29
As closely related as the two are I would expect the same in antiX.
