Just Arrived from YouTube!

G'afternoon. Rappin at ya from the live-usb; haven't even installed yet.
I saw a YouTube video about MX Linux and funny thing -- it was exactly what I wanted. In fact, funny thing -- over the last two or three nights, with no particular urgency, I had just installed the Ubuntu Bionic Beaver, and was getting it to run a bit like Xubuntu. I was trying things out, learning new things and re-learning old things about Linux, and intended to re-create (Rufus) my USB stick to do a hardware-up install with the latest Xubuntu.
Just the other day, I described my ideal set-up as Debian with Xfce. I don't like bloat, I do like stability, I'll spend as much time in the terminal (or init 3 console) as anything else, and I remember using Xfce on an old Fujitsu P-II machine.
So I have been reading up on Linux, playing with it, watching various videos, and a video popped up purporting to answer the burning question -- Why is MX Linux suddenly so popular? Sounds like click-bait to me.
Except that the video sported as its thumbnail just a picture of the desktop with some promo text composited on. And that desktop looked *clean*. I don't mean the lack of icon cruft, but the lack of almost anything -- but without looking like some minimalist Hell. It looked useful and fast. So I watched the video.
And funny thing -- it's exactly what I want! Debian underneath, Xfce on top, but with a bunch of UX tweaks to make it more useful to a filthy casual such as myself. SOLD!
Sooo here I am on the live-usb MX Linux, registered as a new user here and going to install to HDD after I pick up my son.
