Do you plan to introduce a normal tool for semi-automatic installation of drivers for ATI in MX Linux as well as for Nvidia?

The open source amdgpu driver is much better than the "pro" (proprietary) version for 3D games:

They are already installed!

ATI was purchased by AMD in 2006 so all of the modern cards are actually AMD. That said, the open source driver is recommended for most use cases and is already in the kernel so there is no need to download a proprietary driver. All of the computers at my house use AMD cpu's and gpu's from various years and all run fine on the open AMDGPU driver.

It's not just about image quality, but about performance in 3d applications. Is it not inferior to the proprietary driver?

From the tests I've read, the open-source amdgpu driver has had better 3d performance than the "pro" version Linux for over a year now.

The only reason to use the amdgpu-pro driver is to use OpenCL programs which use your video card as a cpu instead of a gpu to speed up tasks like bitcoin mining.

Since AMD continually releases new cards, the drivers in MX, which consist of parts in the kernel, Mesa, and the xserver-xorg-video-radeon/ati/amdgpu packages, and also need firmware-amd-graphics, may take some time to support the very very latest models.

But that's what Arch is for.

3D Train Studio runs on ArcoLinux with Wine, on my machine with an old Radeon HD 6450/7450/8450.
It does not run on MX Linux 18.3 with WIne or with Wine staging.

Error message:
We could not find any compatible graphics card for display.
No support for DirectX 9.0C and at least shader version 3.0

Remark: Picasa 3 runs fine on both MX Linux and ArcoLinux.

Does ArcoLinux use the proprietary driver or could there be another reason?
