MX 17/18 Repository: The cutecom Thread

#1 Post by mmikeinsantarosa »

cutecom-0.51.0 is now in the test repo.
Cutecom is a graphical serial terminal, like minicom.
It is aimed mainly at hardware developers or other people who need a
terminal to talk to their devices. It features lineoriented interface
instead of character-oriented, xmodem, ymodem, zmodem support
(requires the lrzsz package) and hexadecimal input and output among
other things.
It is written using the Qt library originally by Trolltech (www.trolltech.com)
This release was built to resolve an existing bug mentioned here and here.

Hopefully the OP that posted here will provide feedback on this.

Sorry for the late reply.
I don't know why but the new build didn't show up on my mirrors until Saturday morning.
I installed it and verified that the original bug of not starting sx is now resolved.
Unfortunately, the terminal device I was using has broke in a different manner, so I wasn't able to actually transfer a file yet.
However, Cutecom does call sx properly now, and the transfer does initiate. So hopefully when I get my terminal project working again, everything will work properly.
Thank you for your quick reply and support. And I apologize again for not replying sooner.

Cheers,

John Gay
