It seems difficult for new users to find the manual. I wondered if a small change might help?

If the 'Comment' line of the Manual entry was changed from 'Orientation and Information' to 'Help and Information', then a new user who typed 'help' into the Whisker menu would see the Manual entry.

Sounds reasonable, though that would have to be reading the desktop file and all the translations would need to be redone. I think there used to be a "Help" menu entry which I thought was good.

I have been trying to figure out how to code a command for that search box so that typing in "help" plus a word would open default pdf app to the Users Manual with a search enabled on that word. Haven't got it yet...

Current candidate (not working) for the pattern "help":

the manual used to be called "Help". No one found it there either.

Note the manual is in the default Favorites Menu.

Not sure where the statistics are supporting that. It seems to me "Help" is a term that comes to mind naturally when someone has a problem, and well, needs help solving it.They do not need orientation at that specific time, and as a new user may not even know there is a manual.

there was a reason we changed it to "manual". because its a "manual". I'm not sure naming it something other than what it is helps anything.

I'm not opposed to adding "help" to the description text though.

I agree, no need to go back. I have considered changing the Welcome label to "Help"

I liked the old version of the menu,it's really and more convenient. It's more comfortable and pleasant to work.Keep going for updater in future.

Not sure what you understand by "old version," but take a look at this: right-click the Panel > Panel > Add New Items.., find "Applications Menu" and click the "Add" button.
