The Dev Team has set up an official blog site:

As the blog's first post indicates, the purpose of the blog is to provide a place and a voice for MX Linux to announce significant events such as releases, development, etc. No comments are possible on the Blog itself, but blog posts will be duplicated in this Forum so that community members will have the chance to express reactions, ask questions and so forth.

There is an rss feed for it that can be set up using your browser by clicking the orange symbol in the bottom right corner of the page, or with any dedicated reader (news feed) and most email programs (I have it in Thunderbird). The feed to use is this:

This is great news for me as it makes it easy to find highlights that I can add to /r/MXLinux without having to troll through every forum post.

It will be good for tech journalists too because they are always looking for a quick and easy way to report Linux news. I'll bet that we will see an increase in mentions of MX online once they find the new blog.

Probably the best way is to make up a "press release" kind of e-mail with lots of glowing praise for MX and include a direct link to the blog and rss feed. Then send it out to all the sites mentioned in this thread and any others you can think of.

In short, get their attention, then make it as easy as possible for them to follow you.

Then the hard part -- make sure you keep the blog up to date with fresh and relevant content :)

IMO it would be nice if those blog entries were dated (on the main blog page I landed on following the link in the first post). I wasn't sure how far back I was looking in the past.

Jerry, I think many of the aggregator type sites allow "pushing" to them.

I just looked at lxer.com and linuxtoday.com really quick but I couldn't find any info on it, just normal publishing, but reaching out to them may be an option.

Dated; yes please. Without making any structural change, the text of each entry could begin with the date, i.e. 2020-02-04 15:56 GMT

Once you have an announcement, I am happy to provide publication on eirenicon.org and via my LinkedIn which has ~2000 links.

Good move btw - rss feed. It's difficult to sort out interesting announcements from the general chaff in the forums. This provides an ideal way to follow.
I see some readers ask support questions in the comments. I doubt this was your intention and hope they can be gently persuaded to ask on the forum instead.

If you go to the Blog page you'll see a link for your email client.

Check the link to the rss feed. When I didn't connect in Liferea, I found that the link should be

yep, didnt see it at first, it works now :-) sorry for waking up this old thread.. If Im unable to see a big fat orange-white sign on that blog, I definitely get some sleep now
