Upgrade Firefox

I've successfully made a MX-14 kiosk.
I've installed MX-14 on a usb stick with no persistense.
I installed Firefox.
MX-14 keeps complaining I don't have the latest.
1. How to I upgrade Firefox?
2. Or how do I stop the complaints?
I would like to do both.

Remove firefox first, best tu use the purge option and if there are any leftover links to the old Firefox, remove them manually

As root, edit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/various.list

Add the lines below and save the changes

# Mozilla builds
deb http://downloads.sourceforge.net/projec ... zilla/apt/ all main

Next, add the repo signing key, copy and paste the following into a terminal
sudo apt-key adv --recv-keys --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com C1289A29

Open Synaptic, hit the reload button, search for firefox and install the mozilla build version.

Don't forget to change the systemwide preferences to use the Mozilla build and replace your shortcuts if you have any on the desktop.

The simplest way is to use the mx-packageinstaller app.

m_pav,
would that work for M-12 or pretty much any debian based distro within reason?
M-12 uses iceweasel.

Now this one I know. We get the latest firefox into our test repo just about as soon as we see it come out. That's good for MX, m12, m11 & m8.5. so if you want the latest firefox for m12 (which is currently at 34.0.5), just enable the test repo
long enough to install it.

edit: As shipped for m12, the sections part of this is a typo entered as "testrepo". You need to change it to "test".

We also do the associated language packs at the same time. - mike
