#1 Post by anticapitalista »

There are some firmware updates from Wheezy-backports now in the repo.

Could testers check that all is still running ok after upgrade.

My wireles still works fine, so the new firmware-ralink package does its job.

part of inxi -Fxxx:

Code: Select all

Card: Ralink RT2790 Wireless 802.11n 1T/2R PCIe driver: rt2800pci ver: 2.3.0 bus-ID: 03:00.0 chip-ID: 1814:0781

I just applied all available updates to both machines in sig, and after a reboot everything still seems to be working.

Anybody else getting this suggested removal of systemd?

Code: Select all

# aptitude full-upgrade
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  openssh-sftp-server{a}
The following packages will be upgraded:
  apt-notifier cups-filters dmidecode firmware-adi firmware-atheros
  firmware-bnx2 firmware-bnx2x firmware-brcm80211 firmware-intelwimax
  firmware-ipw2x00 firmware-iwlwifi firmware-libertas
  firmware-linux-nonfree firmware-myricom firmware-qlogic firmware-ralink
  firmware-realtek haveged init-system-helpers{b} libcupsfilters1
  libhavege1 openssh-client openssh-server rsyslog smxi-inxi-antix tar
  udisks
The following packages are RECOMMENDED but will NOT be installed:
  colord cryptsetup-bin
27 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 24.7 MB of archives. After unpacking 6,059 kB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 init-system-helpers : Breaks: systemd (< 44-12) but 44-11+deb7u4 is installed.
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

     Remove the following packages:
1) systemd

Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?]

Yes, I did and had it removed. I have not seen any detriment yet. (A VB install).

New firmware working fine on an install of MX-14 RC2 after upgrades on my desktop (Dell XPS 8500), using a Realtek RTL8111/8168B chipset for wired ethernet, with an Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter. Both wired and wireless are working after the latest firmware updates using Synaptic, and a reboot of the computer to make sure it still worked OK.
