1) a problem with brave-beta browser belongs to the brave developers, I would think.
2) do you mean this: synaptic > settings > repositories

Image
Production: MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: MX-25 Fluxbox, ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 9 with i7
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

2) yes: synaptic > settings > repositories
I am german and there it is named "Paketquellen"

I have Spiral Linux installed and upgraded to trixie.
The developer mentions that trixie will not be able to edit the repositories :
After upgrading to Debian 13 ("Trixie")
⚠️ Important: The Software & Updates GUI has been removed from Debian 13 ("Trixie"), and the previously installed version fails to run. Please perform the following steps to restore GUI repository editing capabilities and enable necessary repositories for your upgraded Debian 13 installation:

Remove old packages: In Synaptic do a package search for software-properties and uninstall the three previously installed matching packages.
Now the Settings > Repositories GUI will work. Click the New button and add the necessary Debian 13 repositories as follows:

URI: https://security.debian.org/

Distribution: trixie-security

Section(s): main contrib non-free non-free-firmware

URI: https://deb.debian.org/debian/

Distribution: trixie-updates

Section(s): main contrib non-free non-free-firmware

URI: https://deb.debian.org/debian/

Distribution: trixie

Section(s): main contrib non-free non-free-firmware
In MX25-beta the "software-properties" are not installed, but nonetheless the repositories are not edible.
Thus I thought that this is intended.

Switching topics: in the Fluxbox version running installed on my ThinkPad , the compositor picom does not seem to be configured correctly:

(On same machine and version) In updater, is the option to automatically confirm updates working correctly? I have it checked

but the upgrade screen always stops to get confirmation. In terminal, this works correctly

Installed KDE version in VirtualBox over the existing MX23.6 KDE.
Fast & smooth, no problems there. Also kept my settings.

I noticed one thing: qml6-module-qtqml-xmllistmodel is not installed by default (but the qml5 version is). Some widgets failed to work without it (I found the weather widget)

I will post the QSI after I try the betas on my test machine(s)

So far I'm loving it, thank you!

For picom to work, you need to create a user configuration file
You can use the picom.sample.conf file (in /usr/share/doc/picom/examples) as template --> copy it to ~/.config directory and rename it to picom.conf .
Picom backend will default to xrender, but if needed it can be changed (in line 212) to 'glx' or xr_glx-hybrid'
Change all other settings to your hearts content.

I have set picom to start in daemonized mode ; the entry in ~/.fluxbox/startup as follows:

Code: Select all

picom --daemon --config $HOME/.config/picom.conf &
Sony Vaio VPCF23P (2011), Intel Core i7-2670, 6gb RAM, 240gb SSD, MX-Linux 23 based Fluxbox v/1.3.7+
Lenovo Thinkpad L560 (2016), Intel Core i5-6200, 16gb RAM, 240gb SSD, Devuan Daedalus based Fluxbox v/1.3.7+

I had a problem on the same imacs that under previous ubuntu can display grub only if "console" attribute given to grub.
Some trouble shooting steps:
A) Maybe check whether it is is or not related to the new live-grub theme by switching the live-grub to terminal console only.
Add a line like this

Code: Select all

 terminal_output console
as last line to the live grub.cfg file at /boot/grub/grub.cfg an the live usb.
It would then show grub as black/with console alike liveGrub menu. And would give and indication about either graphic-module changes,
or if not loaded mayb something with the used efi.image/efi-partition on the liveUSB.
Solution A works.
I'm writing from the live mx25beta1 on the 2009 imac and i believe other macs will not have problems, I'll test next days.

(I also make a gpt usb stick but it works only adding the line in grub.cfg)
