That looks nice, I'll give it a spin.

Thanks

I was originally thinking that this would be a conky with temp that could be used in other situations, but your simplification looks good and I'm going to go with it after a bit more testing tomorrow. I can always upgrade it later if need be.

I think Chris was exactly right here. Point of reference: on the Pi 5 I'm running an ambient temp of 55-60 for smaller tasks (35-40 on my personal laptop), and it will be interesting to see how it does with more demanding situations.

I have finished what I was intended of the "RPi TIps" (Wiki) that is linked on the Respin desktop. I just copied the Wiki text and paste-specialed it into a LO document to make it easier (use Track Changes if convenient). It would be great if at least one other person could look at it before Final.

Looking for
--corrections
--suggestions
--curses
--etc.

TIA

Had a read-through of 'Tips', and all seemed to make sense.

In the Netflix section, this part seemed a bit loose:

This command assumes you are using the default Chromium browser. If not, paste in this command in a terminal:
sudo apt install chromium-browser

Perhaps add:

This command assumes you are using the default Chromium browser. If not, install it by pasting in this command in a terminal:
sudo apt install chromium-browser

you can't use firefox for netflix. at least I never got it to work
sudo rpi-chromium-mods libwidevinecmd0
I presume there is an apt install missing from that command.

int he audio setup, the tips implies audio will not work over HDMI. it does work on HDMI, so some clarification is required there.

Thanks for looking.

--Yeah, lost that "apt install" when I cut out the chromium part after we changed our default browser.
---On the audio: right, got a bit dumb there....
--I'll go ahead and test Netflix on FF; the RPi group seems to think it works.

So one older question: is the splash a no-go for you?

haven't tested a fresh setup yet. I'm given pause by the fact its not set by default.
