@Jerry3904 Seems the neofetch program is a customized version.

I removed neofetch from MXPI then purged it and removed the folder from ~./config and installed the version from Debian's bookworm ftp server (7.1.0-4)

Now it displays number of installed packages but with different information.

The version in our repo's has a different name (7.1.0+git20210726-0.2~mx21+1).

I considered this to be a Catch 22 situation and went ahead. Shouldn't happen again.

Feedback about Quick System Info:

WAU, great work, all those logs available in one place, perfect!

Buck Fankers wrote: Fri Jun 16, 2023 6:09 am ... is swap file now generally preferred way of setting up Linux system?
Swap file and swap partition both work fine. The former is more convenient on a single-install system, as it can be resized easily. The latter has the efficiency on a multi-boot system that it can be shared.
Thank you

pbear wrote: Thu Jun 15, 2023 10:58 pm By the way, you might add to Known Issues that the ISO won't at present boot from Ventoy, a problem hopefully to be fixed by future Ventoy update.

Ventoy code upgrade to allow MX Linux 23 to boot

How to find https://www.ventoy.net/en/doc_github_ci.html I had to poke into a few 'actions' to find one with download links.

Once downloaded and unarchived open terminal in folder of unzipped archive and run

Code: Select all

sudo sh Ventoy2Disk.sh -u /dev/sdX
where X is the target USB.

The -u switch is for upgrade...it doesn't touch the partition of ISOs. To install use the -i switch.
