It could be on its last legs. Thumb drives generally don't have the longevity of an installed HDD or SSD.Gigahenry007 wrote: Sun Feb 19, 2023 1:38 pm Can i check the remaining space on the current thumbdrive?
If 21.3 requires about 2GB why would a 16GB thumbdrive be almost totally used space wise?
Thank you!
Huck did you notice the attachment in Post # 85? I guess its a older version according to Eadwine Rose. Hmm?!

The only thing I said somewhere was you could DL a newer version of 21.3, which is the snapshot that Adrian makes each month, Feb's one.
But given how much trouble you are having, I am not even gonna suggest that one for you anymore.

That's plenty big enough. It's also about the smallest capacity drive that you'll be able to find these days.Gigahenry007 wrote: Sun Feb 19, 2023 2:46 pmIs a 16GB Thumbdrive big enough?Huckleberry Finn wrote: Sun Feb 19, 2023 12:54 pm This is the latest MX 21.3 , updated on Feb 15 (just for you asked) :

Re: How to Update MX-18 to MX-21
Question:
When I did the first download and install I had a working MX-18.
Can I use my Windows machine to download a NEW ISO for MX-21.3 and then use in the intended computer?
I did get the download done on the MX-18/MX21.3 computer but its only a Live version.
Not sure what will happen if I pull the thumb drive out and try to create the ISO? I assume it would crash.
At any rate if I shut down the MX-18/MX21.3 computer I'll lose the latest MX-21.3 download I'm guessing.
Suggestion about the best way to start this to minimize any errors this time.
Thank You,
Raphael

Certainly. Download the ISO to Windows and then also download a utility called Rufus from this link:
https://rufus.ie/en/
You will use Rufus to write the ISO to the USB drive. Using Rufus is pretty straight forward. Just remember to select GPT under Partition Scheme. Otherwise just accept the defults.

Hallo~
How much time should it take to get to next window of rufus? it doesn't appear to be doing anything yet. See attachment. Just one quick line ran across the bottom where is says READY.
It appears it started on its own..but none the choices are working in the any of the windows yet. Like the Partition where you said to enter GPT
Dunno how these apps works Sorry!
Thank You!
