Strange in a VM and a HD install both locate and Find work in catfish, no crashing. Locate not installed.

Let's get some other feedback here, please. On two HDD installs catfish opens up for me inside Thunar with "find" being selected by default.

Same here, on VM and a HDD install. I forgot to mention that there was no malfunction opening catfish directly from the menu or via Find in Thunar.

It does for me too. But to be able to use Fulltext search, you have to switch to locate. Then it crashes.

And it's only a small crash, says something unexpected happened (or something similar).

Tried that but did not crash.

EDIT: No crash but without locate installed it does not find text in a file. IMO, crash or not, either locate should be added to the iso (158 Kb) or removed from catfish (if possible). It is a non-functional feature without locate.

Strange, didn't you get a red sign? And no search results?

A red sign flashed momentarily (just a flash of red, not long enough to read) then cleared by itself, and no search results.

mlocate is supposed to do the same and is installed. Found this in the Arch wiki:
When mlocate is installed, a script is automatically placed in /etc/cron.daily (so that cron runs it daily) that will update the database. You can also manually run updatedb at any time.
It could be as simple as the databases not being updated in a fresh installation.

Interesting. I think that is what happens with Thunar tree view as well.
