@asqwerth @Eadwine Rose
try the linked mx-tweak packages. I think I got the internal drives thing worked out. the old polkit rule overrides we've used for years not longer appear to work.

Thanks, I'm in no hurry. We won't need it when we get a MXFB version.

On hddtemp, did some searching and.. well .. long story short. It's dead.
Did find something on drivetemp (
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/hddtemp-vs- ... mp/58648/2) that I have to see if this works on my SSD drives, but I guess that is for a different topic, and I am tired of fiddling with the alpha today.
Unless we want to do somet... well we.. you guys..

something like you did with disk manager.

I just had the same permission error when installing my Emby Server deb file but the program works. Hmm?
Indeed, I saw this just now that the nuvola icons got installed. Color me confused.
It’s normal and not an error. It’s informational.
Maybe, we fix the _apt permission thing within the deb-installer itself, without decreasing the intended _apt-sandbox-security feature.

Tried out the new program User Installed Packages and I'm impressed. Booted up Fluxbox and installed the program then created a UIP list and saved it on my backup drive. Booted back to MX 23 alpha and started the program and opened my list.
I deselected some of the programs I already installed (corectrl needs to be rebuilt and Tim is aware of this)
I was able to install most all of the programs. The ones I couldn't were because of this.
kdiskmark (not available)
nomacs (not available)
nordvpn/nordvpn-release (installed nordvpn from popular tab/nordvpn-release not available)
xmms-plugins-antix (installed xmms from popular tab)
Other than that, every thing went smooth. Great work guys

same experience as siamhie.
I tested UIP last night with good results, generating the list in mx21 then returning to mx23a2 for a test.
only issues:
1. i diidn't realise at first it had not been installed automatically in MX
23 21 by a mx-tools metapackage update. Then I looked for it in the repos and couldn't find it at first because I searched for "mx" and "uip". The tool doesn't come with the "MX-" prefix and just has the rather generic "user-installed-packages" name.
2. I believe "xterm" didn't show up in the list of installed packages even though I'm sure I installed it manually in mx
23 21 after discovering it is necessary for nordvpn's account login to work.

xterm always gets installed along with nordvpn for me. It also shows up afterwards in MXPI. Why nord relies on xterm for the login instead of the users default terminal is beyond me.
