Will MX21-KDE have it's own separate beta series? Would that be expected after the Xfce version is at or near final?

yes, MX-21 Fluxbox as well (I'm sure you wanted to know that)

@uncle mark Jerry already answered it, but just to expand on it, Adrian told me that MX-KDE will still be based on AHS, so one main thing keeping the MX-KDE Beta on hold is me finishing the AHS stuffs.

Not too much longer for the AHS to be ready to go through internal testing. But Adrian is the one to answer on the rest.

But again, really the answer is … when it’s ready.

@Jerry3904 oh no it’s all good. I just wanted to expand on it, really it’s not my place to talk about MX-KDE either lol.
Cats out of the bag though, users know work is being done.

It’s going to be interesting with 3 major standalone versions with so much to offer, really a huge accomplishment. Especially on MXFB.

Mxfb is taking a lot of work, and I don't have the skills everybody else does...

Chris
I know what the problem is, a fix will come shortly from the repos.
mx-timedate has updated from 21.3 to 21.7, and the servers are now in the list. However, running 'Update Now' results in the message 'The system clock could not be updated.' A reboot didn't help.

EDIT

The machine I was testing this on has an encrypted install. When testing on other hardware without encryption, Date & Time work as expected.

Making my usual adjustments/preferences to MX, I found the following:

1. Using Conky Manager to turn off the blue roboto and switch on MX Full, does switch off the former but does not turn on the latter. (it does seem to turn others on when selected).

2. using synaptic package manager to install proftpd-basic, gives an error in proftpd-basic. The error messages displayed are proftpd-core post installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1. proftpd-mod-crypto dependency problems - leaving unconfigured. proftpd-mod-wrap dependency problems - leaving unconfigured. proftpd-basic dependency problems - leaving unconfigured.
Looking through the details afterwards it seems that it can't run because the system was not booted with systemd. This appears to be the reason why core did not complete and everything else is dependent on core.
This didn't seem to be a problem with MX19 (though I may have changed something without realising/remembering).

3. Installing Kindle from a pre-downloaded exe, installing on a fresh 32bit wine, it installs but then when run it can't find the internet. (I've seen this problem before but not on a fresh wine install. I also tried the Kindle version included in winetricks and that did the same.) I realise this could be for a whole range of reasons and could be more to do with wine than MX. But it was working fine in MX19.4.

I also note that with the default theme settings, when typing into the search box on MX(start) menu there is no highlight bar to show which item will be run when I press enter.

Also after having typed, the mousepad takes a long time to 'wake up'.
