Brian Blade and the Fellowship Band
Track: Season of Changes (12 mins!)
Love the guitar solo.
The first 1.5 mins are a slow intro, but after that, the track really gets going.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57-nzm1Tt34
Kaipa
Track: Mindrevolutions (25+ mins!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkwLvv_CfT8
All-round great musicianship.
2 tracks - almost 40 mins of MX use, LOL.

I've heard a little about them, because I listen to Scary Pockets on youtube, and there has been some crossover of their respective musicians/singers.

Jerry,
You might also like Pomplamoose - Scary Pocket's keyboardist Jack Conte and wife Nataly Dawn's original group.
Example of their old material:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlDGFrP4NgI
("Bust your kneecaps" - hilarious lyrics)
New format of their recent band/performances:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooZR4LSuppk
(funky-jazzy mashup of Virtual insanity/Staying alive)
Often the same musicians appear in both Scary Pockets and Pomplamoose's videos, and they often use the same premises for their recordings as well.

Here's Senri Kawaguchi and Kanade Sato at 15 and 9 years old respectively in 2012.

Two really awesome drummers (there are videos of Sato playing with a fusion band at 6 years of ago).
Both still going strong in 2019, although Sato may still be in school and only playing part-time.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sf3DgS3LEA
where the 2 of them drum-dueled together in 2012 - Sato's just a little girl here! But already so good.
Yes, I was aware of the Ear Candy Jazz Factory band, but frankly I think their music is not challenging enough for Sato. Maybe she's just doing this for the moment while she's still in school? That's my suspicion in any case.

I just watched/listened to the duet video. Man, they're both so good and so tight, in perfect sync. Close your eyes and you can't even tell that there are two drummers playing.
You may be right. ECJF sounds pretty good to me but their music's not really that challenging for her, it's more like run of the mill cool jazz/fusion or something, like a jazz equivalent to elevator music, sort of. She's probably mainly doing it to give her a reason to practice regularly but without taking up too much of her time. I do know that unlike many young, talented drummers she doesn't just get up on stage and do complicated solos, "bangety-bangety-bangety-bang". She sounds very professional, and I think that if her English is up to the task (of which I have no idea) she could go to L.A. and get work as a studio cat any time she wants to, and maybe later even form her own band. She's like another Billy Cobham or Buddy Rich.
I remember reading somewhere that her dad's a drummer and he started teaching her to play when she was very young, I want to say 6 years old but maybe even younger than that, and that the two of them would take their drum sets out to a park on Sundays during nice weather and have drumming competitions.
Here she is at age 12 covering Duke Ellington's cover of Caravan:
https://youtu.be/DS8PdGjDb3M
and here she's covering Megalith by T-Square. This is more like it, more challenging and showing what she can do:
https://youtu.be/A-BvHJr5OjE
I think she was also 12 here. (And to think, when I was 12 I was usually squandering my time fishing.)

Even when disaster in the form of a b0rken upstream package strikes it's a good idea to keep things in perspective by listening to some good music. Sometimes nothing will do but some old-timey bluegrass!
Here's Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper doing the Lee Highway Blues. Man, this is what I call a fiddle player!

In the early 1990s when there was a major sunspot cycle going on and high-frequency radio (3-30MHz) propogation was very good, I used to listen to Radio Tahiti on 11.827MHz (they were supposed to be on 11.825MHz but their ancient transmitter had drifted a bit) every evening, and I'd hear music like this and learned to love it:
https://youtu.be/P9cObAHmfH0
I love the sound of the "Tahitian banjo" style of ukulele and the very fast strumming. The lead uke player in the video is one of the best there is IMO.
(possibly NSFW content in the video as there are Tahitian dancers depicted on the wide-screen TV behind the live musicians.)

This is a great thread! I only have a few specific You Toob sessions I keep coming back to, namely tracks from two live concerts recorded in 2000 or 2001 by (1) The Cranberries in Paris and (2) Roxy Music at the Apollo. Probably my fave of these is Roxy's "Both Ends Burning."
But I am compelled to WATCH these, not just listen.
If I just want to listen while MX-ing, I fire up Craig Drummond's masterpiece MPD client, the fabulous Cantata, and then stream one of the best internet radio stations based here in Raleigh -- "That Station" -- which plays a fantastic mix of music, including a lot of local NC artists.

I've been enjoying these videos of Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes walking onto Dave Matthews Band live sets and dominating the place with his incredible guitar jams. There's quite a few of them online.
These are apparently remarkable because Matthews is a perfectionist on stage, and allowing a free-flowing jam artist like Haynes to take over his stage is probably not easy. Dave's facial expressions as he tries to figure out what Warren is going to do next add to the enjoyment.
Here's a couple of good ones:
Playing Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer" together in George, Washington in 2011:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=1OXcwwC0yLE
Anytime they play Cortez the Killer together, it's an amazing show. Lots of these videos from different concerts online.
In this 2018 version from Madison Square Garden, Warren and Tim Reynolds start their guitar duel early on and build it into monstrous crescendos:
https://yewtu.be/watch?v=lYrD2SthaMU
Carter Beauford is an absolute beast on drums, and seems to enjoy the jamming in these as much as Warren.

Crimson and Clover - Great song.
Keeping with one hit wonders from the 60's
John Lennon liked Cilla Black for some reason.
This was her only one hit.

Cilla Black ... A new one on me.
But then I was in my very early teens.
Yeah, I kinda blew that one.
Racking my brain cell for the "one hit" thing...
Here's one that keeps intruding, unbidden.
In all that time, I never knew who the artist was!
The New Vaudeville Band - Winchester Cathedral

Hi,
Not sure if self-played tunes are allowed, if not by all means please delete or move to a more appropriate thread. It seems odd to put this stuff in the Respins thread.. *shrugs
Here is one of the bands I play in doing a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, we have CCR and Bill Withers tributes coming soon.
https://youtu.be/gkyXSzsozN0
As you can likely guess this was created and produced with AV Linux MX Edition..

Hi!
Well everything has a tipping point and we got a lot of good footage at our MGV gig this past Feb. 10 at the Donnybrook 513 and I don't want to overshare my welcome so I'm going to just send the links here for the other Videos I've posted on YouTube in this forum post. Of course we'd love to have them checked out and even shared but I get that people are busy and attention is an expensive commodity these days. So in advance thanks for watching and comments either here or on YouTube are welcomed!
In no particular order:
A tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival:
https://youtu.be/E6lGbcC4J6g
'Just the Two Us' originally by Grover Washington Jr. and Bill Withers.
(great bass work as usual from Peter):
https://youtu.be/iqVfXgGpmmY
Bob Marley's 'Is This Love?' (nice reggae riddims by Dan):
https://youtu.be/chqP3Y0-Jc0
Blind Faith's 'Can't Find My Way Home':
https://youtu.be/zT5kZf4mTVA
Our barn-burner finale of 'Superstition':
