On Firefox menu issue remove gtk3-nocsd package. This was still present on beta2 but has been removed from rc1. The library is responsible for all sorts of weird little gtk an window manager issues.

Because of a resume problem, where only the cursor is returned after the screen was turned of, i used MX Tweak to select the intel driver for my HP Mini 110 netbook.
Resume, after the screen was turned off is working now.

However, i have now a new more serious problem:
Several functions from the control panel do not start, e.g. MX Tweak, Window decorations and also MX Tools cannot be opened.
Also instead of auto-login i need now to type my password to log in. The system seems to work slower.
In the Start Menu, Settings, i changed MX Tweak to start it in a terminal window.
It shows that a theme module for clearlooks could not be found in the module path.
No clearlooks packages can be found with Synaptic or with the MX Package Manager either.
Any ideas how to fix this.

I did not turn anything off. PolicyKit Authentication Agent is still enabled as an auto start item.
The system is almost totally broken, so i will try a clean reinstall.

After the reinstall:
Same problem with resume and when Intel driver is selected, followed by a reboot, then quite a few things are broken and i cannot start MX Tweak again to revert from the Intel driver.
Note that Manjaro Grub is used at MBR and MX Grub is as PBR at the root partition.

I don't know how it happened, but like magic everything is resumed now, after the screen went off and moving the mouse, so not only the cursor.
There were many updates just before. Looks like an update solved this issue at least
I will once more reinstall RC1 and try to figure out what happened exactly.
The intel driver problem remains however.

Ending up with only a cursor on the black screen is related to the Xfmw Compositor.
The screen is resumed with only a moving cursor, after a timeout period without action.
When a laptop is closed (screen folded down), the screen is also turned off by default, but will resume normally with full functionality, when the laptop is opened again.
I found that the odd behavior resuming after timeout only happens when the Xfmw (Xfce) Compositor is active.
When no Compositor or when Compton is selected and applied, then my HP mini 110 laptop will resume the screen normally in any case.

In the meantime i was trying Beta2. Same symptoms!
After deleting 20-intel.conf and reboot, everything is back to as it was before without the Intel driver.
Also only cursor after resume.

I'm going to play around with switching to the intel driver tonight and see if I can replicate the issue.

It almost sounds like your Xsession is crashing though. you might try disabling Display Power Management in the Xfce power settings.

When I tried the "use intel" tweak to solve the blanking
it was running live on two displays. I saw right away the change upon logging out ; no need to restart. It mirrored instead of extending displays. It was possible to uncheck the tweak box and revert the intel checkbox by log-out and log-in. There were no problems alike gsm's machine's issue in accessing mxtweak.Other.

mx-installer 21.10.03 in MX-21 will not install if the swap size is edited.

I am installing MX-21_rc1 in a 250GB SSD that is completely unallocated. The ISO integrity checked okay with both (sha256 and signature).

The installation was successful using the Template for an encrypted system, accepting all the default settings for a 250GB SSD. The resulting partition sizes are:

• sda1 256.0 MB
• sda2 512.0 MB
• sda3 224.1 GB
• sda4 8.0 GB

Here is the problem. I used the same Template and conditions that produced the successful installation above, but made just one change - the swap size was changed. I tried four different sizes, all producing the same error.

• 512MB
• 1000MB
• 2GB
• no swap (the swap partition was removed with the installer)

At the 9% mark ("Creating encrypted volume: sda3") an error message appears "Failed to prepare required partitions". (Note that the error was at the 10% mark when installing without swap.)Install 9% Error.png

By the way, MX-21_beta2 installed fine.

Edit: About an hour after I posted this I did a short test using mx-installer 21.10.04 to install using 512 MB of swap and the problem remains (that is the latest version as of this posting).
