2) Once system restarts and re-establishes wifi connection - the notification msg has a barely visible, empty text box below the notification text "You're now connected to XYZ" ..
It bothers me and I reported on this a long time ago.

Specifically when a notification such as the wifi is connected etc. comes up, the small box below it that should say something like "don't show this again" is illegible with the default setup. Not sure ATM where that can be changed in Settings > Notifications, maybe by adjusting the theme.

its fixed by default on the next iso, and for any new user created after installing updates. The problem was the notification theme was set to a non-existent theme, but its now set to "Default". The setting lives in the home folder, which we do not touch with updates.

Another reason why testing each fresh beta should be done by reinstalling the whole thing afresh. Otherwise certain things won't be detected, or you might not realise something got fixed, nor be able to test the purported new fixes. Defeats the purpose of beta-testing and discovering bugs.

Sorry if I sound like I'm nagging, but I have seen one too many "can I just upgrade from [old beta] to [new beta/final]?" type questions.

I've encountered a serious bug when attempting to launch Kdenlive on my desktop pc with Nvidia drivers installed: The desktop freezes and I have to hard reboot via the power switch. I'm not having this problem with the same build (minus the Nvidia driver) on two separate laptops. Got to be the driver, right?

If it were me, I'd just make and keep a list of the packages I remove every time and run

sudo apt-get autoremove

A better place to report the bug would be in its thread.

Does the stock Debian version have the same issue? You can use aptitude to install that version.

Everyone is going to have a different list...
I do something similar. I create my list by selecting the packages in Synaptic > then File > Save Markings
I like using Synaptic because it lets me "read" them back into Synaptic and change them later. And I like the info and extra options Synaptic gives me quickly and easily.

I save the "markings" named something related to what "type" of packages it contains (see below - office)

Then run:

sudo dpkg --set-selections < /home/bob/Desktop/office_uninstall_pkglist.txt
sudo apt-get -u dselect-upgrade
You can do this for installing applications too!

well, your system posted lists two graphics cards. when you installed the nvidia drivers, you should have been asked if the system was an "Optimus" system (I said bumblebee earlier, my bad).

If this is a desktop system with discrete graphics card, then its not an optimus system.
