As you've found out this turned into something more than either of use expected.
Lots of information that your well aware of is a mystery to me.
By the way I liked the idea of Slimjet being a lighter version of Google chrome which tends to be a resource hog. But, I have no idea what one has or lacks over the other.
Like i use Google Voice frequently to send Text messages cause texting for me is too tedious.
Hopefully it will complete shortly and work beautifully.
Grazie mille.

Dear Friends,
Hope all is well.
As you can see in the attachment which upgrading from mx 18 to mx 21.3 it seems like its stuck at 12%. Been well over an hour and no changes. It stated somewhere that this typically takes 20 mins. or less depending on hardware.

A default password was installed and Auto login was checked. Which the attachment didn't show either of these steps.

Huckleberry Finn has been extremely helpful with this and I am ultimately waiting for him to respond.
In the meantime are there any suggestions or is this normal?

Thank You!
Cordially, Raphael

Sorry to say its still the same. Not sure whether to shut it down for the night or leave it running?
Somethings wonky! If I shut it down I'll have to re enter information like the PW's,etc...
:frown:

Hmm.. yeah I have never had this problem, so.. I am at a loss too. Personally, I'd start over and see how it goes the second time. Those passwords, you'll need to type them more often, so you'd best remember them ;)

Thank you!
it seems to run fine Live but its stuck in cyberspace.
What do you mean by "Start Over?"
Spent all afternoon working on it.
I assume for now to leave the flashdrive in place and just shut it down or leave it on. But, don't think its going to do much. :-(

Going on 3 am EDT.
Guess I'll abort and leave it on running cause apparently takes time to actually Abort it.?! and pick it up later in the morning Saturday.

Regarding the time it takes to install MX-21.3, post #39 said:

I guess it takes up to 20 minutes to install Correct?
And then post #40 essentially agreed saying:
Huckleberry Finn wrote: Fri Feb 17, 2023 6:52 pm Yep. Roughly (depends on hardware).. most of it is "files are being copied..."
...

To give that a little perspective, using an official MX-21.3 ISO on a USB 3.1 flash drive and using a USB 3.0 motherboard port, all of my MX-21 Xfce installations have taken about 6 minutes to install, if even that. My hardware is nothing special (a 2019 second generation Ryzen 5 1600 AF 3.2 GHz and a SSD).

As I said, just to give a little perspective.

Not sure. It's long time ahead, I have installed MX.
It looks like Gigahenry007 has not set a "default user password".
But isn't a "default user password" obligatory to continue the installation process?
