(Fluxbox is fun to play with! Thanks to whoever made the MX overlay for it! It's a new toy just in time for *insert holiday here*)
You close the menu by right-clicking on its header.JayM wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:23 am The one thing about fluxbox that's bothering me, and the next thing I plan to try to figure out how to "fix", is that once you've right-clicked to open the menu it stays there until you either select something or press the escape key. I want it such that if you left-click anywhere in the empty desktop it closes the menu. If that's possible it will be my next feat of legerdemain.
I didn't know that...not intuitive, huh?chrispop99 wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:56 am You close the menu by right-clicking on its header.

Perhaps for you that would be all there was. Other users will profit from the great reduction in load, and still others are attracted to the overall minimalistic aesthetic.Based on the replies, fun seems to be the main answer.
I didn't know that either. Thanks, Chris. More pilot error/training needed.Jerry3904 wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 7:06 amI didn't know that...not intuitive, huh?chrispop99 wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:56 am You close the menu by right-clicking on its header.

Fluxbox uses a completely different paradigm/approach from Openbox. Even Openbox implementations are quite different, one from the other. I personally like BunsenLabs (very #! like) the best.genericmeatsack wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 4:53 am What makes the Fluxbox experience different from Openbox? On my older machines years ago, I was a HUGE fan of #! Crunchbang, and was sad when it was abandoned. This may be the go-to environment for my EeePc, and I plan on giving it a spin over the holidays.
I've used Bunsen Labs, and CrunchBang++. I don't see that much difference between Openbox and Fluxbox, purely from using and configuring it.manyroads wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 9:01 am Fluxbox uses a completely different paradigm/approach from Openbox. Thank you, and welcome to the Forum!Wasp wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 9:33 am I've been using Fluxbox for years, and curiously I installed MX to try it. Congratulations, very interesting to use it in combination with the XFCE tools and the MX Tools.
Thanks Jerry
