The day you posted you couldn't load their web page, that is was keep spinning, I tried and i got through without any problem and I registered. Did you check, if some anti script or add-blocking addon may be preventing loading their home page?

I did it using a Tor browser which means, IP was pointing somewhere who-knows-where. But that shouldn't matter.

well just wanted to say that after much hassle getting an account or two i have been trying it out and other than maybe 3 hassles getting connected to their server - which was somewhat brief for most events - minutes to maybe an hr it has ben quite nice. i still want to keep checking it for a few more months. i probably will still keep the proton accounts i have - but may transition a lot of my stuff over to the disrrot accounts. so thanks to the people who suggested it. other than the initial hassle and glitches they had at the time for signup and as i said, the other few glitches it has been good. so thank you!

Good luck. When I decided I had had enough of Gmail and chose to delete my account I had to specify another email account so a link could be sent. I was prepared to go through this but then Google kept sending spam to this account. UGGGGHHHH!

Disroot is not e2e encrypted. Protonmail is the leader in that field.

a bit late to the party, but here my notes:

1. Disroot ok but emails are stored in plain text on their server, also 2FA is only available on webmail but not with client. Not really secure.
2. Riseup, good, it offers aliases, but an invite is needed (PM if you wanna get one) and lacks 2FA
3. Autistici/Inventati, good as riseup (same political view, too), unlimited storage, 5 aliases, 2FA for everything.
4. Protonmail and Tutanota are reportedly the most secure providers but I do not use them because lack of IMAP support
5. Zoho is also very good as a standard email service.
6. YandexMail is great, if you trust the Russians.

Provided that I do not like Google and that I am never really 100% happy with any email services, I have ended up using icloud and outlook.com
