MXFB user-devs: any objection to going with this as default in MX-23's overlay file? (Trying to tie up any loose ends for B2/RC.)
Code: Select all
# force slit to un-autohide (left and top sides) on MX-23
slit.borderWidth: 0
slit.bevelWidth: 2
I'll take silence as = no objection
Any reason why not
Code: Select all
slit.borderWidth: 0
slit.bevelWidth: 0
to avoid ugly bevel?
@Jerry3904 @Melber After further testing (logging out and in) I found that if I set any variable to slit.borderWidth other than 0, I cannot get the dock to show when auto-hidden.
Setting any variable to slit.bevelWidth other than 0 creates a black line (thickness dependent on the value) around the dock.
I think setting both variables to 0 work right.
I have a proposal to add to the overlay file. Tell me what you think?
I've noticed some styles have menu.bevelWidth: 1 set in their conf file which results in this look with more than 35 entries in a sub category.
but if you set menu.bevelWidth: 2 (in overlay) all styles now have two columns.

Thanks for that suggestion. I'm unwilling to test/adopt it until the next round of testing--right now all focus is on clean-up.

@Jerry3904 Sounds good. I'll resubmit during b2/rc1 testing.
p.s. Love the inclusion of cursors this time around in MX Tweak.

DO is simply amazing. Not only is that included, but the UI is really well done.

Absolutely. Taking fluxbox to new levels of personal customization.

Hello Guys,
I just want to make a post to praise developers of MX Linux. I use Linux now for 4 years excursively and I have been using as a daily Ubuntu, Fedora and Arch with Plasma DE and MX Linux 23 Beta 1 is working the best of all of them. In all of them something in KDE was not working correctly but not in MX and it is damn beta. And I am using it in Wayland.
Great work!
Here are some things that i found
1. Battery life is little bit worse than on ununtu with tlp.
2. While installing Flatpaks in MX installer there are question marks everywhere(photo)
3. "Application view is unsupported on your system" message in system monitor.(photo)
Have great day Guys.

That's what happens on all versions even in MX21, it's an encoding issue the terminal prints a block character that is not interpreted well by the widget in MX Packageinstaller, frankly I didn't think it was worth spending time trying to figure that out it's just an esthetic bug that affects only flatpaks installation and I don't think I care too much either about flatpaks or this particular issue, but if I find some time I will investigate.

Hello, all
In ja_JP locale, garbling appears on the screen as below:
It might be a minor bug, but I hope it will be settled in the future release.
Best regards

what iso did you start from? we do not have a recent update for libnns-systemd.
showing quick-system-info as well as
