Hello MXFB community,

I would like to share with you my MXFB config I have been using with pleasure since a few months. Main things are :
  • tint2 simple taskbar at the bottom, not to take too much space. 4 customized executors to have a look at : RAM, proc temperature, battery, and wifi.
In my eyes, an horizontal taskbar is more convenient to display 3 virtual desktop and the title of the windows, as well as the executors (a vertical taskbar gets too large for me with the same infos).
  • a simple "bar" conky at the top, to have some more details on the laptop if needed. From ceeslans' model, thanks !
  • of course the fluxbox menu, made to my liking. With app menu and some other convenients shortcuts for me.
  • rofi for both app lauching (F1 shortcut) and file searching through my "rsearch" script (F2 shortcut). Last to be seen on the first picture :

A second one with xfce4-terminal in drop-down mode (easy gesture shortcut on my laptop fingerpad), rofi as an app launcher, and the wifi panel popping up when I click on my "wifi executor" in the taskbar.

Hope that could be of interest for some of you !

Wallpaper is here https://imgur.com/a/Lwg3y8h. I made it playing around in photoshop, still haven't got my head around how things work in gimp.
That's terrific. Yes, please start to think of ideas, as we will be calling for WP submissions for the MX21 release in due course.

I'm always happy to have more MX community members contributing original WP to our distro!

Restricted myself to one bright colour and moved some items out of the side panel because I figured out how to fudge big round buttons.

I like the clever "spotlight on MX logo" wallpaper.

@asqwerth, thanks, I'll keep my eyes open for the WP announcement.

Here's a revised version of the yellow black desktop. Circles into the wallpaper and window theme, MX and shutdown button back on the left,
sidebar executors on the right as inspired by @ceeslans with slightly smaller icons (image files resized to 48x32 pixels).

Updated the v4.19 kernel now to v5.10
MX19.4 seems to like this kernel... oooh, my system really is humming!
Contrary to what I expected, it seems to use even less memory than before. RAM usage after boot (or logout/login) idles at around ~215Mb

Was feeling a bit silly when I did this and am willing to admit it's maybe a little over the top for daily use...
