Me, too. Thanks for the hint.Eadwine Rose wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 6:01 am Just installed the beta, the one thing I noticed is that even though I told the liveUSB the timezone, it didn't handle it like it should, it was 2 hours ahead IIRC. Only when I ticked that it should use LOCAL in mx time settings did it jump to the right time. That is the only thing I saw so far that was wonky, but easily sorted. I rebooted back into 18.3 right after the install, just to see that it was still thereI am such a wuss.

I'm not sure how having an icon that doesn't do anything is helpful.Jerry3904 wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2019 11:50 am Superfluous -- a certain redundancy often helps the user, no?

Thanks for your suggestion about answering the local time prompt; that solved one nit I noted.
On my hint about a 'ghost',
I wanted first to revierw 32 pages of posts to see if my complaint was already covered.
I didn't catch any other similar complaints to what I notice peculiar to MX-19.
I've chosen to replace MX-19's original desktop background image with my own.
On shut-down I see, briefly a login screen with the original background image briefly before
things complete an otherwise orderly shutdown. I could just ignore this, but I'd rather get
rid of this 'ghost' if I knew how.
Otherwise, MX-19 beta is functional for all my needs AFAICT.

But why? There is already a built-in way to switch user, and the additional icon does nothing at the moment as mx-switchuser is not installed. Should we not just remove the icon by unticking? Or am I missing something obvious here? (Entirely possible!)

Re: MX-19 Beta 1 Feedback
Switch User Icon in the menu makes sense to me, as it has been there always and does not require to open first the logout popup. The missing mx-switchuser could be replace by "xfce4-session-logout --switch-user".chrispop99 wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2019 1:50 pmBut why? But the good thing about original "mx-switchuser" is that the user get's a little info-popup , where the user get explained how to switch between the VT's. So I would suggest, we keep the icon in the menu, but also adjust the mx-switch so it still's show the info to the user and use the new "xfce4-session-logout --switch-user".
